Sanneke

My name is Sanneke and I studied Psychology at the University of Groningen, Netherlands.

I’ve been working as a recruiter for Optiver since November 2007. Together with the rest of the Recruitment team, I’m responsible for attracting, selecting and hiring top talent to join Optiver.

In order to do so we attend career fairs throughout Europe, organize guest lectures and presentations at top Universities and provide workshops and trading games in collaboration with several student associations. On top of that we are continuously working on new ways to attract en select the best candidates.

I wanted to work as a Recruiter in an international organisation, so Optiver was the perfect match for me. The cultural diversity is one of the things I like best about working here. I have colleagues from all over the world and that makes Optiver an interesting company to work for. Also the fact that Optiver is a dynamic company that is definitely willing to move forward whenever needed appeals to me.

The biggest challenge for me was actually getting to know the Trading business. It’s something I hadn’t had a lot of exposure to before but learning more about Trading has helped me understand what to look for in a potential new Trader.

My role places me in the middle of the organisation. The interaction with the different departments and its people is what I like best. I hope to be able to expand this role in the future both in Amsterdam and, if possible, globally!
