Jason

My name is Jason and I am a Software Engineer with Optiver. I joined Optiver 2 years ago in Sydney, where I studied Computer Science and Mathematics. I now work from the Amsterdam office.

As a Developer of manual and automatic trading systems, any day can see me working in a diverse range of activities: liaising with traders to streamline their workflow or discussing new trading algorithms, tuning the performance of our software and hardware or learning more about the legal and technical requirements of the varied markets in which Optiver trades. All this in addition to actually writing the software that drives our business. Software that is better, faster and smarter than our competitors’

Optiver has helped me to continue my education, paid the fees for me to complete a Graduate Diploma of Finance in Wholesale Markets and provided study leave when assignments and exams were due. Even better is that I am encouraged to develop my career within Optiver by following the paths and working on the projects that interest me.

There's much I could say about the opportunities afforded in working for a global company where mobility is promoted among all staff. However the true job satisfaction I get every day at Optiver comes from working with talented and devoted colleagues from all facets of the business to deliver systems in a rapidly changing environment where the best people and technology meet.
