Erik

I'm Erik, and I'm Wholesale Trader on index options. I'm responsible for prof trading or voice trading, and my focus is the Dax index. Besides the derivatives that are traded on the screen, there is a so-called prof market, in which larger volumes of derivatives contracts are traded, mostly via brokers.

I have always been interested in financial markets, and I'm involved in one of the most exciting branches of the market right now. As a Wholesale Trader, I’m responsible for making, following and trading option strategies in this market.

I studied Business Administration in Rotterdam at the Erasmus University, and graduated with a Master’s in Finance and Investments.

After my studies, I traveled for a while before starting for Optiver. I chose Optiver because the company is very internationally orientated. My colleagues come from all over the world, and the parties I deal with on a daily basis are spread all over Europe.

I joined my team in the beginning of 2007, and after a few weeks of theoretical training, my on-the-job training started. In a couple of years, I plan to make a move to Asia or Australia, to help expand Optiver's business there. But at the moment, the Dax team is probably one of the best places you can work!
