Thierry

My name is Thierry and I studied Hotel Management in Leeuwarden, the Netherlands.

A little over a year ago, I started as a Wholesale Trader, after more than two weeks of theory and a month of on-the-job training.

Normally, I come in at 08:15 AM and start up all the systems. During the day, I am responsible for kicking off markets on the Eurostoxx and keeping them up to date. At the end of the day (6:15 PM), there is usually some administration to take care of. We are not only responsible for starting markets, but also for maintaining relationships with the outside world, so there is a nice mixture of working at your desk and going outside to meet people.

My biggest challenge at this moment is trying to expand the desk I am working at.

I had some previous experience in the market, and knew that Optiver is the most professional group to work for, and that is why I applied here. All my expectations have been fulfilled so far. It is a very professional organisation in which everyone strives to be the best, and where the atmosphere is also very good!

Currently, I am very happy with the role I have and would like to expand it a little bit further. In the future, I would like to take advantage of the opportunity to work in one of our offices abroad.
